Terms of Service
These terms are a contract between Maxim Seryakov, trading as Courtline, New Zealand ("Courtline", "we", "us") and you. They cover Courtline Coach, Courtline Player and the web pages we run. Part A applies to everyone, Part B to coaches and Part C to players and parents.
If you have both a coach account and a player or parent account, all three parts apply to you: Part B when you are coaching and Part C when you are a parent. A parent is any adult linked to a child's record: a parent, a legal guardian, or another adult acting with their authority.
You agree to these terms when you sign up, and we keep a record that you did. You can ask us for a copy. Courtline is run from New Zealand and offered to people in New Zealand, under New Zealand law. Contact us at support@court-line.net. Our postal address is at the end of this page.
In short
- What Courtline is. A record-keeping and messaging tool. It does not guarantee a booking or check any coach.
- We never touch the money. Payments go straight from player to coach, and a "paid" mark is only what your coach ticked.
- Coaches can buy a paid plan through the App Store or Google Play. It renews every month until you cancel it in your store account.
- You must be 18 or older. Children take part through an adult's account or a coach's roster.
- Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you, and delete your account.
- Coaches: you are responsible under the Privacy Act for the people you enter.
- Coaches: closing your account deletes the money records in it, including what people owe you.
- A charge is your coach's record, and your coach can change it. Saying you cannot attend is not the same as cancelling.
- Deleting your account does not cancel money you owe, and your coaches keep their records.
- Your consumer rights come first. Used privately, nothing here limits them.
- If you use Courtline for your business, our liability to you is limited to NZ$100. If something you entered leads to a claim against us, you cover our costs up to the same limit, but never for our own fault.
- A court or the Disputes Tribunal is not bound by that limit.
- We can change these terms with 14 days' notice. If you do not agree with a change, stop using Courtline before it starts.
This summary does not replace the full text below.
Our Privacy Policy is part of these terms. It is the full account of what we hold, who sees it, how long we keep it and what deleting does. Both pages change together and carry the same date; previous dated versions are available on request.
Part A — Everyone
A1. What Courtline is
Courtline is a record-keeping and communication tool for running and taking part in coaching. We never receive, hold or transmit money: every payment goes directly from a player to a coach, outside Courtline. We do not guarantee a booking, we are not a tax or accounting service, and we do not vet coaches.
A2. Your account
- Your age. You must be 18 or older. We do not check your age, and if we find out an account belongs to someone under 18 we will close it. Under-18s take part only through an adult's account, or as a record on a coach's roster.
- Your email address. Use your own. You sign in with a one-time code emailed to you, so anyone who can read your inbox can sign in as you, and there is no other way back in. You type the code only into the Courtline app. We will never ask you to send it to us or to anyone else.
- One address, two profiles. One email address can have both a coach account and a player or parent account. It is one sign-in, so anyone who gets into your inbox gets into both. If we disable your account, both are disabled.
- Your account is personal to you. You must not sell, transfer or share it, and anyone who helps you run your business must not use it. We may close a shared account.
- If someone else gets into your account or inbox, or a phone you are signed in on is lost or stolen, contact us straight away.
- If you still have a signed-in device, sign out there first. This signs your account out everywhere, including on the lost phone.
- Changing your email password does not sign anyone out of Courtline.
- We will then disable the account, and we may let the players and parents connected to it know.
- Before you sell or give away a phone, open the app with a connection so everything syncs, then sign out and delete the app. Changes you made without a connection are lost if you delete the app first.
- What we cannot do. We cannot recall a message that has already been delivered, erase data on a device we do not control, or show you which devices are signed in.
A3. Money
- Courtline never takes a payment. Balances, charges, packages, credits and any button labelled "Pay" are records, or point to a coach's own bank details.
- Currency. Amounts are in New Zealand dollars. We do not convert currencies.
- Disputes are between you and your coach. This covers any charge, payment, refund, credit, expired package or cancellation. We are not part of it and hold no money for either side.
- Bank accounts. We do not check that a bank account belongs to your coach, and a coach can have more than one, so the account in a reminder can change for an ordinary reason. If you have not paid a number before, check it with your coach another way, not through Courtline. We are not responsible for a payment sent to the wrong account, but this does not limit your rights if we have misled you.
- A "paid" mark is only what the coach has ticked. It does not prove that money moved.
- Plan subscriptions are the one exception. A coach who buys a paid plan pays Apple or Google, not us, and B1 explains how that works. Courtline still never takes a payment between a coach and a player.
A4. Acceptable use
Use Courtline lawfully and honestly. Do not harass anyone, and do not guess or share codes or links that are not yours. Do not misuse a child's information. Use another person's information only for the coaching it was shared for (B2). Do not scrape any part of Courtline, build or improve a competing product, reverse-engineer our software, or interfere with the service or its limits.
Security problems. Email support@court-line.net to let us know you have found one before you send the details, and we will agree a safe way to send them. We will not treat a good-faith report as a breach of these terms. Do not access, change, keep or share anyone else's information beyond the minimum needed to show the problem exists.
A5. The suggestion boards
Ideas you post on the suggestion boards may be shown to other users without your name, and we may edit or remove them. You give Courtline the right to build, use and make money from any idea you post, and to publish what you wrote. This is permission for us, not a transfer: you can still use your own idea yourself.
We owe you no credit or payment for it, and this permission continues after your account closes. Coaches can post on the boards, and anyone can read them and report a bug. This applies only to the suggestion boards. Your exercises, lesson plans, notes and anything else you enter to run your coaching stay yours (A11).
A6. Reports, suspension and removal
Safety. Where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect a child or another person, we may unlist a public profile, remove content, suspend an account, or close it. We may do this without notice, and before we have reached a conclusion. It takes effect when the person's phone next connects to our servers, and a change they made offline before we acted can still arrive afterwards.
Other reasons. If the reason is not someone's safety, we will let you know what the problem is, in enough detail for you to answer it, though not who raised it. You then have a reasonable chance to put it right.
We act on the account, so we cannot stop someone opening a new one with a different email address. We may also act if a governing body, regulator or employer lets us know you are no longer entitled to coach. We treat a report about a child as urgent, and aim to respond within 24 hours.
While an account is suspended, nothing is deleted, and you can ask us for a copy of your records. If we restore it, we add back any free time that ran out. If we let your players or their parents know that we stopped your account, we will let them know when we restore it. When we close a coach's account ourselves, we do not run the deletion in B9 automatically. Suspending a coach deletes nothing and does not close any player's or parent's own account.
We may pass a report to Police, Oranga Tamariki or another authority where we reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent or lessen a serious threat to someone's life, health or safety. Section 5 of the Privacy Policy explains this.
A7. Support, changes and the service
Support is by email at support@court-line.net. Courtline is run by one person. The times we give are targets, not guarantees, except where the law sets them, and there is no service guarantee or credit. If Courtline is down, we will say so in the apps when we can, and at court-line.net.
What we may change. We may change what Courtline does, its plans, limits and prices, and these terms. We will not change a price we have said is fixed, for as long as we said it is fixed. Before any other change that materially affects you, we will post the new date and a note of what changed, and email you at least 14 days before it starts if we have your email address.
If you do not agree with a change, stop using Courtline before it starts. You can do that at any time. If you keep using Courtline after it starts, you accept the change. We treat a notice as given once we have sent it to the address on your account, so keep it up to date.
You can stop using Courtline at any time without closing your account. Closing is a separate step: for a coach it deletes the money records in the account (B9), and for a player or parent it is permanent (C6).
A8. What we are and are not responsible for
Your consumer rights come first. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986 or the Privacy Act 2020. The same goes for any other law that cannot be limited by agreement. If any part of this section would have that effect, that part does not apply to you.
If you use Courtline for your own private purposes, nothing in this section limits your rights at all.
If you use Courtline to run your coaching business, you and we agree in writing that the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply. That agreement works only where we both supply and acquire Courtline in trade, we both agree to it, and it is fair and reasonable. If it is not fair and reasonable in your case, the Act still protects you, whatever this paragraph says. Your Fair Trading Act rights always stand. If you are not sure whether you use Courtline in trade, the Consumer Guarantees Act protects you.
If you use Courtline in trade, then to the extent the law allows:
- Courtline is provided as it is. We do not promise it is perfect, uninterrupted or error-free, and we may withdraw features.
- We are not responsible for what a coach, player or parent types, sends or does through Courtline.
- We are not responsible for a payment between a coach and a player.
- We are not responsible for information sitting on a phone we do not control.
- We are not responsible for knock-on losses, such as business lost because the app was down.
- The most we would ever have to pay you, for everything to do with Courtline in any 12 months, is what you paid us in those 12 months. If you paid us nothing, it is NZ$100. It applies to each person separately, and is not affected by when you find out about a problem.
This limit does not bind a court or the Disputes Tribunal, which may disregard it, and nothing here stops you asking one to.
The promises in B2 and B5 to cover our costs are part of this section. They are capped at the same figure. You owe us nothing under them for loss caused by our own breach, negligence, wilful misconduct or fraud, or for our own liability under the Privacy Act 2020. We will take reasonable steps to keep any such loss down.
Nothing in this section limits our liability for fraud, for personal injury we cause, or for our own breach of the Privacy Act 2020.
A9. Law, disputes and general
These terms and the Privacy Policy are governed by New Zealand law. Nothing in them affects rights you have under the law of the country you live in. You may bring a claim in any New Zealand court or tribunal that has jurisdiction, including the Disputes Tribunal, and nothing in these terms limits that. We will only bring a claim against you in New Zealand. Before that, please email support@court-line.net and we will try to sort it out.
You can complain about privacy to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz, 0800 803 909) at any time, and about a harmful message to Netsafe.
If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce something straight away, we can still enforce it later.
A10. App stores
When Courtline is available from Apple's App Store or Google Play, this agreement is still between you and Courtline only. Apple and Google are not parties to it. They have no responsibility for Courtline, its support or maintenance, or any claim about it. Courtline alone is responsible for the app and everything in it.
- Apple's standard licence applies to the iPhone and iPad apps. It is Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement (the "Standard EULA"), in addition to these terms. If it conflicts with these terms about your licence to use the app, the Standard EULA wins.
- Google Play. On Android, the app is licensed to you under these terms and Google Play's terms.
- Support and maintenance are ours, not Apple's or Google's.
- Claims about the product are between you and us. This covers product liability, a failure to meet a legal requirement, consumer-protection and privacy claims, and claims that Courtline infringes someone's intellectual property. We, not Apple or Google, deal with them.
- Your rights under New Zealand law are not affected, including under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986.
- Contact for questions, complaints or claims: Maxim Seryakov, trading as Courtline;support@court-line.net; and the postal address at the end of this page.
A11. Content and rights
Courtline's name, apps, software and design are ours. You keep ownership of everything you enter. You let us store it, show it to the people these terms say can see it, and process it to run Courtline. That permission lasts only while your account is open.
Two things are exceptions: anything you post on the suggestion boards (A5), and the items listed in section 8 of the Privacy Policy. We may also use information across Courtline in a form that identifies nobody, to see how the service is used. We do not publish or sell your rates, prices or roster as your own figures.
Do not upload or publish anything you do not have the right to use. That includes another person's photograph, drawing or diagram; text copied from a book, a website or another coach's material; a club's or brand's name or logo; and any claim to be endorsed by or connected to an organisation that has not agreed to it. We will not use your name, photo or profile to advertise Courtline without asking you first.
If you believe something in Courtline infringes your rights, or that someone is using your name, photo or business on Courtline, email support@court-line.net. You do not need an account. We will review it, may remove it without notice, and will let you know what we decided.
A12. If we stop, and if we sell
We may stop offering Courtline or any part of it. If we close the service, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the apps and by email. During that time you can ask for a copy of your data, which we put together by hand. When the service closes, we delete what we hold, except anything the law requires us to keep. If the business fails, a court or an insolvency officer may decide what happens to the information, and the Privacy Act still applies to whoever holds it.
We may transfer Courtline and these terms to someone who buys or merges with our business, or to a company we set up to run Courtline. We will transfer personal information only to a successor bound by our Privacy Policy, who may use it only for the purposes that policy describes.
We will let account holders know at least 30 days before a transfer takes effect. You can close your account and ask us to delete your information first, and we will delete it before we hand anything over. A free month or a plan granted by support ends with the service and has no cash value.
Part B — Coaches
B1. Plans, limits and what each plan includes
Courtline has a Free plan and three paid plans: Base, Pro and Edge. You can buy a paid plan in the app, or Courtline support can turn one on for you. A plan can also be granted for a time through the referral programme (B8) or a zone founding place (B10).
Each plan includes different features and sets limits on how many players, groups, clubs and bank accounts you can have. Your Free limits also rise permanently once ten of your players have signed in to the Player app. Plans are charged monthly, and a weekly figure on a card is the monthly price divided by the weeks in a month.
The founding offer. Coaches who joined under the original founding offer keep the welcome price for as long as they stay on a paid plan. That offer is closed to new coaches, and zone founding places (B10) are the only founding offer. Everyone else pays the standard price once any welcome-price lock they hold ends, and you will never be charged more than the standard price shown for your plan when you signed up.
A plan we turn on for you is a courtesy, not a purchase, and support can turn it off again. If we do, we will let you know, and the effect is the same as moving down a plan. When you move down a plan, nothing you created is deleted: anything over a limit stays, and you simply cannot add more. Two things do stop: a public profile is unlisted, and offers you had for sale are taken down. You can put both back up if you move up again.
Paying for a plan. A paid plan is a monthly subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. The terms below apply to it.
- Who you pay. You pay Apple or Google, using your store account and its payment method. We never see your card details. Apple's or Google's terms apply to the payment.
- The price. The app shows the price of each plan, in New Zealand dollars, before you buy. The price shown is the price you pay.
- It renews. A subscription renews every month until you cancel it. Your store charges you each month at renewal.
- Cancelling. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. In the app, More ▸ Plans ▸ Manage subscription takes you there. You keep the plan until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting your Courtline account does not cancel your subscription, so cancel it first.
- Refunds. Apple or Google decides refunds under its own rules. We cannot refund a store payment.
- Restoring a purchase. If you change phone or reinstall, use Restore purchases on the Plans screen.
- Moving down a plan has the effect described above.
- A welcome price applies for as long as the lock on your plan lasts. After that you pay the standard price.
B2. The people you enter — your responsibilities
You will enter other people's details into Courtline, including children's. When you do, you are responsible for that information under the Privacy Act 2020 and any code of practice made under it, in your own right, alongside us. New Zealand has no small-business exemption, so you must appoint a privacy officer and answer a person's request to see or correct what you hold. If you coach for a club, the club may also be responsible, so agree with them what you may keep here.
You promise us:
- Permission. You have a lawful reason, and the permission the law requires from the person or their parent, to record their details.
- A school or club is not a parent. Neither can hold an account or act as a child's parent.
- Your right to coach. You hold any registration, clearance or insurance required, and you will let us know if you lose one.
- The adults you name. An adult you name as a child's parent or guardian really is one, or is authorised to act for the child. We do not check the relationship.
- Junior or adult. The setting you choose decides how Courtline treats a person, not their date of birth.
- Emergency contacts. You will let anyone you record as an emergency contact for an adult player know that every coach that player trains with can see it.
- Fair and accurate records. A medical note covers only what you need to coach someone safely on court, and needs the permission the law requires for health information. A covering coach cannot see it.
- Removal. You will keep details accurate. You will remove them, in particular a child's medical note, once you no longer need them or when the person or parent asks.
- Email addresses. The email address you enter for a player or parent becomes the address they sign in with, so check it before you send a code.
- Contact details. You may keep your own client records for your coaching and your tax. You must not use them for marketing the person did not agree to, or for another business. You must not pass them to anyone else without permission, or publish what is on your Courtline screens.
- Lost access. Contact us straight away if a phone, tablet or inbox with your Courtline access is lost, stolen or used by someone else. You may have to notify the Privacy Commissioner and the families yourself. Please pass our notice on without delay and let us know when you have.
Your account is yours, not a club's. Courtline accounts belong to the individual coach, not a club, academy, franchise or employer. We will not give a club access to your account or roster, but we must answer a court order or another lawful demand. If you are employed, your agreement with your employer may say the records belong to them, and we cannot split an account. If more than one coach works with the same families, each needs their own account.
A copy of your own records. You can ask us for one at any time. We put it together by hand, normally within 20 working days, and it does not include your exercises or templates. If you need it for a claim, let us know and we will keep what we hold while the claim is open.
If a player or parent needs to bring a claim about money and cannot identify you, we will give them your trading name and the club and city you entered. We do not give out the address you sign in with, and we let you know when we have given anything out.
Beyond the checks described in the Privacy Policy, we are not responsible for the accuracy or lawfulness of what you enter. If someone takes legal action against us over something you entered in breach of these promises, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and anything we have to pay, on the terms and within the limits in A8.
B3. Who sees what
- Your own roster only. Another coach never sees your coaching notes, assessed level, attendance marks or medical notes.
- Shared profile details. If a player trains with more than one coach, each of those coaches can see the player's profile details, including an adult player's emergency contact.
- A person's no-show rate, worked across all their coaches, is shown to a coach that person asks to join. Coaches they already train with do not see it. Late-cancellation counts stay with you. The rate is never shown for a minor.
- Group lessons. Attendees see each other's first and last names.
B4. Publishing
- Public profile and Discover. A profile you list is visible to any Player app user, and only inside the Player app: it has no public web page and search engines cannot find it. You give us a licence to display it, you confirm you may use the photo and that the profile is accurate, and you can unlist it at any time. Being in Discover is not a ranking, a recommendation or a check.
- Images. Do not upload a photograph of any identifiable person other than yourself. An image attached to an exercise sits at a public web address that does not expire, and we may remove any image at any time without notice.
- Join code. Your join code is meant to be shared publicly, and we do not check who uses it. Anyone with it can see your name and club, and your city if they open it in the Player app. How long it lasts depends on your plan. If it is misused, you can replace it, but that does not remove anyone who has already joined.
- Invite codes. An invite code connects one person to one player's record, so treat it like a password. It lasts a week and stops working once used. Never post one publicly: send it only to the player's own parent. A child who uses their own code ends up holding an account, which these terms do not allow.
- Share links. You choose who receives each share link. A link lasts three days, or until the end of the lesson for a pre-lesson invite. Stop sharing, on the lesson or in a player's Share sheet, switches your live links off at once. You can also email us. A player or parent cannot switch one off.
- Your cancellation policy is your own statement, shown word for word, and we do not enforce it. You can also set a notice period in hours. When a player asks to cancel, we record whether they asked inside or outside that period and show you, so you can decide what to charge. You decide; we only record the timing.
- What you publish to your players (your policy, rates and offer descriptions) must be lawful and accurate. We do not check it, but we may stop showing something that is not.
- Your GST status and number are yours. We add a one-line note based only on your registration tick, and assume a registered coach's prices include GST. Keep those settings current: the note reflects your settings as they are now, including on charges from before you registered. What Courtline shows a player is not a tax invoice.
B5. Messages you send through Courtline
- Announcements go to the players and parents you select. We do not review them first. You may write to the families you coach about your own coaching. You must not advertise anything else or another business, or reach a family who is not there to be coached by you. You promise what you send is lawful. Publishing is final: we cannot recall a message already delivered to a phone.
- Push notifications sent on your behalf show your name and lesson details on lock screens.
- Payment reminders. You are responsible for the bank details you enter and for keeping your inbox secure.
- A reminder we send in your name uses your sign-in email as the reply-to address, so everyone you remind can see the address that signs in to your account.
- A reminder must be a reminder, never a threat or a way to shame a family.
- It shows what is on the record. It takes off any unspent rain-off credit you have recorded, and it does not know if a charge was settled elsewhere.
- Courtline cannot send a reminder to some of a child's parents and not others.
- Referral invitations are sent once, in your name, to an address you enter. Invite only someone you know personally. If someone takes legal action against us because of an address you supplied, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and any amount we have to pay, within the limits in A8.
- Messages you send yourself from your own messaging app are yours. Courtline only writes the text.
B6. Money — what you are responsible for
- The money is yours to manage, not ours. Courtline does not refund, cancel, move or pause a package, and it does not charge anyone. It does not redeem, expire or refund a credit you promise a player. An unspent credit you record is shown to them and taken off what they owe.
- A pack covers nothing until you mark it paid. Until then the player is charged for the pack and for each lesson.
- You can edit or delete a pack, a charge or a payment mark after a player has bought it. The player is not notified, and Courtline keeps no record of what it said before, so agree any change with them first.
- When you cancel a lesson, you choose what happens to its charges: drop them, keep them as a late-cancellation fee, or change them. The family is not notified, so let them know yourself. The same applies to a term charge created when you enrol a player.
- Deleting a season asks what to do with enrolments you marked paid: keep them as paid records, or delete them. Unpaid ones are deleted with it. Un-enrolling a player deletes their term-enrolment record, even one marked paid. Courtline keeps no copy of anything deleted.
- If a school, club or company pays you, keep that arrangement outside Courtline.
- Tax, invoicing and record-keeping are yours. Courtline is not a complete record of your income. We do not promise to keep your records for any particular length of time, and we are not your business records.
- If a player is injured or a dispute starts, keep your own copy straight away and do not close your account.
B7. Requests and availability
Requests for sessions, connections or a place in a group are requests only. You may accept, decline or ignore them. Courtline promises the player nothing on your behalf.
A player saying they cannot attend is not a cancellation. The lesson and any charge stay. We record that they said so, and when.
Displayed availability is a convenience, not a commitment. An open slot a player has bought is not booked by the purchase. Book it yourself, or let the player know it is gone.
B8. Inviting other coaches
You can invite other coaches to Courtline. The reward is free time on a plan, never money, credit or a refund. The coach you invited has to actually start using Courtline before you earn anything, and their account must be new. There are limits on how many rewards you can earn, how long an invitation lasts, and what counts.
There is also a one-off free month for getting ten of your own players onto the Player app. This is separate from invitations.
A granted month starts immediately and runs down whether or not you pay for a plan. It is time on a plan, not credit against a future bill. It cannot be paused or banked. When it ends you move down a plan, so B1's downgrade rules apply.
We can change or end this programme at any time. If a free month has already started, you keep it to the end, unless we close the service altogether (A12).
B9. Closing your account
How. You can close your account in the app, by emailing support@court-line.net, or at court-line.net/delete-account. However you ask, we email a single-use confirmation link to the address on the account. It is good for 24 hours, and nothing changes until you open it.
Then seven days. Opening the link locks the account, stops every share link you had live, and schedules the deletion a week later. Nothing is removed in that week. You can cancel with the link in the same email, or by signing in and choosing to keep the account.
What happens at the end. Your coaching data is deleted and your name is replaced on the account. Section 8 of the Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is deleted and what is kept. From that point we cannot undo it. Anyone who can read your email can start it.
Tax law may require you to keep business records for years after you stop coaching. Closing your account destroys the only copy Courtline holds.
Your players. Players and parents with their own login keep their profiles and are unlinked. A child left with no other coach and no parent who can sign in is held for 30 days, not deleted with you. We remove the record then, unless a coach or a parent has claimed the child. A parent record left with nothing but that child is held too. An adult player with no login and no other coach still goes with you. Players are not notified.
If you stop coaching, sell your practice or cannot run your account, your account cannot be transferred. Anyone taking over must invite each family themselves. Closing it deletes the money records in your Courtline account, including balances other people owe you. We cannot reproduce that ledger.
If you die, your personal representative can ask us for a copy of your money records before deciding whether to close the account. We will ask for proof of authority, and if debts are unsettled it should stay open.
B10. Zone founding places
Each of our 10 launch zones has 10 founding places. Any coach whose club is in the zone can hold one. A place counts once we have checked your club is in the zone and confirmed it. A nomination we have not confirmed within 30 days lapses. Places are numbered in the order we confirm them, and we never confirm more than 10 founding places in a zone.
Every place also keeps the welcome price on every plan for 1 year after the free time ends. Once a zone has 10 places taken, we confirm no one else in it.
Free time starts when your place is confirmed, or when a free month you already have ends. Nothing is charged while free time runs. You can hold one place, in one zone. We show on court-line.net how many places are taken in each zone, but never who holds them.
Part C — Players, parents and guardians
C1. Acting for a child
You may add a child, or review a child a coach has already entered. When you do, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian. You may instead act with that parent's or guardian's authority, or with the authority of a government agency that has legal responsibility for the child.
You also confirm you may share the child's details with the coach you choose, and will let us know promptly if that changes. The app records your confirmation, and the time of it, when you add a child and when you review a child a coach has already entered.
As a parent you can see and manage the child's coaching. The app does not show you the coach's notes, medical notes, assessed level or attendance counts. A session you attend together with your child is charged to you, not to the child.
A parent's link does not end automatically when a child turns 18. If you are 18 or older and want one ended, email us. If you are 16 or 17 and do not want a parent seeing your lessons, charges and profile, email us and we will talk to you and to them.
A parent is linked to a child coach by coach. Where two or more adults are linked at the same coach, each can do everything above. Courtline cannot rank one over another, or show that coach's lessons to one and hide them from another. A parent linked at one coach is not linked at another. We do not notify you when another adult is linked, or when a child is connected to a new coach.
If someone is linked who should not be. We do not decide disputes between parents and will not restrict another adult's access simply because you ask. What we can do is remove an adult's access entirely. We will act without a court order where we reasonably believe a child is at risk. We will do the same where an adult is linked to a child with no authority to act for them. Send us any court order affecting who may act for a child and we will act on it.
If a parent or a child dies, or a parent can no longer act, contact us. We stop every message straight away. We can link another parent who shows proof of authority.
C2. Coaches are independent
Coaches on Courtline are independent businesses. Courtline does not check a coach's qualifications, background, insurance or working-with-children status. A coach in Discover or reachable by a code is not a recommendation.
Your coaching relationship, its price, its cancellation rules and any dispute are between you and the coach.
A coach's plan limits how many players they can have, so a request can be refused for that reason and not because of anything you did. No coach can raise that limit by paying today.
Club addresses and maps are approximate. Check the venue with your coach before you travel.
C3. What you share with a coach
- What a coach receives when you connect. That person's profile details, plus any note you type.
- An adult player's emergency contact is visible to every coach that person trains with.
- A person's no-show rate, worked across all their coaches, is shown to a coach you ask to join, and to you. Coaches you already train with do not see it. The rate is never shown for a minor.
- A request is not a booking or a place. A coach who declines keeps the request and the name it was for. A coach who never answers keeps the profile you sent.
- Group lessons. The other families see the first and last names of everyone in the lesson. You cannot turn this off. If that would put a child at risk, raise it with your coach before the child joins, and email us.
- A World Tennis Number range is an estimate, not an official rating. It is shared with every coach that person trains with and is never public.
- An invite code connects one person to one player's record, so treat it like a password. Do not forward one outside your family. Whoever uses it stays linked until a coach or we remove them.
- Someone else's charge can be recorded against you. The other families see both your names. Whether that is right is between you and your coach.
C4. Messages from coaches and from Courtline
- Lesson notifications. Lesson-cancelled and lesson-moved notifications cannot be turned off in the app; use your phone's settings. Other categories can be switched off in the app, which also cancels pushes in them we had already queued. A cancellation is always sent straight away, however far off the lesson is, and so is a rain-off. Quiet hours hold back a moved lesson, unless the old or the new time is within a day.
- Announcements are written by your coach and are not reviewed before delivery. That includes one sent from an account someone else has got into.
- If an announcement asks you to pay somewhere new, or asks for a code or a password, do not act on it.
- You can report and mute announcements without the coach being told, and we will let you know what we decided.
- Muting stops the notification as well as the announcements list, and unmuting does not send what you missed.
- To stop every coach's, turn the Announcements category off.
- Payment reminders. If one threatens or pressures you, or keeps coming after you switched it off, email us. We may act against the coach. Every linked parent of a child gets the same reminder.
- Share links show a child's first name, what the lesson worked on and their next lessons to anyone holding the link. One lasts three days, or until the end of the lesson for a pre-lesson invite. Your coach can switch one off in the app with Stop sharing. You cannot. Ask them, or email us and we will switch it off. If you do not want one naming your child sent at all, ask your coach.
- A message that is harmful to you. Contact us.
- We contact the sender within 48 hours. They may reply within 48 hours.
- We take it down if they agree, if they do not reply in that time, or if we cannot reach them.
- We leave it in place only where they refuse and give reasons.
- Even then we remove it where we believe that is necessary to protect a child or another person (A6).
- You can also complain to Netsafe under the Harmful Digital Communications Act 2015.
C5. Money
Courtline never takes a payment. Balances, charges and the "Pay" button record what your coach says you owe and point to bank details they entered. We do not check that they are correct or that a payment reached them. If a reminder shows a different account number from the one you paid last time, ring your coach before you pay.
A charge cannot be split, discounted or paid ahead in Courtline. It is recorded against one person for the whole amount and is either owed or paid, and a balance only counts down to zero. We hold only a New Zealand bank account number, and not every coach has entered one.
Buying an offer from a coach's profile records what you owe and charges nothing. It cannot be undone in the app, and if the offer is for a particular time, buying it does not book that time. A pack covers nothing until your coach marks it paid, so until then each lesson is still charged separately.
What you owe, what you bought and what you are refunded are between you and your coach, not us, under their own policy. A charge is your coach's record, not a bill from Courtline, and can appear before any lesson has happened. A cancelled lesson can still be charged, and saying you cannot attend is not a cancellation. Your coach can change or delete a charge, a pack or a payment mark after the event, and Courtline does not let you know or keep the original.
A Courtline balance or statement is not a tax invoice — ask your coach for one. Keep your own record and proof of everything you pay.
If you think a charge or payment is recorded wrongly, speak to your coach; if that does not resolve it, email support@court-line.net. We cannot decide who is right, and we hold no history of a charge or a payment. We can require your coach to respond and can record your written statement; section 10.2 of the Privacy Policy says what we do. A money dispute is with your coach, not with us. If your coach leaves Courtline or we close their account, your sessions and credits are still between you and them.
C6. Leaving a coach, and deleting your account
- Disconnecting from a coach stops new lessons, requests and messages. It does not remove your or your child's record from the coach's app. They keep, and can still read, the lessons, attendance, charges and the notes they wrote, including any medical note. An unpaid balance stays visible to both. If you joined the wrong coach by mistake, contact us as well as disconnecting.
- A coach can also remove you or your child from their roster. We do not let you know when they do. They keep their own records. Email us if you need a copy.
- Removing yourself from a child in the Player app removes you from that child everywhere — every coach they train with, not just one. Only a coach can link you again. If you are the only adult linked to the child, no adult will be linked afterwards, so check with the coach first.
- Deleting your account. You can do this in either app, by emailingsupport@court-line.net, or at court-line.net/delete-account. A web request emails a single-use link, good for 24 hours, to the address on the account. Confirming permanently removes your login and your access to every profile, and cannot be undone. A player's or parent's deletion has no cooling-off. A coach's does (B9). It does not cancel money you owe your coach. Your children's records stay with their coaches. Section 8 of thePrivacy Policysets out what is removed and what your coaches keep.
